The new 4OFiF flasher interface is one of a kind, a true plug and play, relay driven product that installs in minutes and flashes the single element head lights bulbs of the Ford Interceptor PPVs. Thousands of hours of testing and development has resulted in a bullet-proof, tried and tested solution to what was previously thought to be impossible. Our PATENT PENDING design allows the user to plug the unit directly into the factory plugs eliminating tedious cutting, crimping, heat shrinking etc., it comes out of the box ready to perform. Others have tried but have met obstacles resulting in limited applications. The 40FiF allows the Daytime Running Lights to operate normally (not limited to DRL deleted vehicles only) and installs in 3 simple steps:

1. Unplug factory headlight plugs and plug in the 4OFiF
   
2. Mount the main unit on the strut tower (sedan) or on our custom bracket (SUV)
   
3. Connect to power
   

How does it work? A series of relays and diodes take over when the unit is activated, holding the shutters that surround the bulb open in high beam mode. The vehicle CAN Bus system and Body Control Modules continue to operate normally as the 4O is invisible to them. When the flasher is activated the factory head lamp shutter system opens, and stays open allowing the high beams to flash. The high beam over-ride feature takes over when the driver manually applies them for safer night time pursuit. We recommend using this feature in all night time pursuits as flashing headlights at night can be disorienting to both driver and oncoming traffic.


Including multiple flash patterns was abandoned since too much "action" can reduce the lifetime of any halogen bulb and can disguise the alternating (back and forth) effect. We created the perfect speed for the best results, a controlled pace that has been proven in trials to be the most effective. Too many flash pattern options also poses a problem with consistency as most fleets managers strive to keep their vehicles identical. Too many options and programming can waste valuable time and lead to inconsistencies in the fleet.


Last but not least a 15A auxiliary lead can run all lighting on the front of the car saving valuable installation time. Just run all aftermarket lighting into the interface and back out to the console with only 1 wire to feed through the pesky firewall.

Interesting, I was not aware that projector headlights had a "shutter"


I assumed it was simply a halogen bulb behind a quartz projector lense.

Unfortunately, IT IS a copy. Like SoundOff and the other companies, we now know the frustrations of doing ALL the work and having it copied when they see what can be done. Apparently PATENT PENDING doesn't mean anything to anyone anymore.


We did all the work and filed for the protection first. We've been selling them since the beginning of the year, but according to their flyer, they are the first with their release on Tuesday. That's almost as ludicrous as Whelen reps claiming that SoundOff copied their Ion, even though the Ghost came out over a year before the Ion. :duh:

I like that they don't give a lot of flash patterns (I hate some of the ones offered these days on other HLF), but that is pricey! Even if u take off 30-40%, I'd rather buy a pair of solid M4 grill lights for that $

Brooking has really been "phoning it in" these past few years. Obviously, they make enough to stay in business, but their customer service paired with their lack of interest in reaching the people that use their products is a bit disappointing.


It is more than obvious that they aren't the first to release this product, so false advertising aside, at least we know who made the one we are referring to here... good luck finding out who made the one Brooking is pushing.
