Canopy disconnect

HI all,

Looking for a solution to allow for the wiring in a canopy to have a master disconnect. The canopy will be wired with a handful of leds. But in the event that the canopy needs removed it, looking to be able to quick disconnect the aftermarket wiring. One thought was to have a waterproof box that the wiring runs to and then a main disconnect for the power? However this would be tricky because the controller is in the cab. Any thoughts?

I assume he is talking about a pickup truck bed cap and finding an easy way to disconnect all aftermarket equipment mounted to the bed cap.

So let me start by saying I have no experience doing this myself, however I have read somewhere on here about people using trailer plugs and connectors for lightbars and it could work for you to. Get a male and female connector and mount your female side where your wire passthrough into the bed is then wire all aftermarket equipment into the male plug. This will allow you to easily unplug it when removing the bed cap, this will obviously depend on how much equipment your putting back there changing how many pins you need, etc.

so I have used a 7 pin trailer plug and 7 conductor SO type cord running up to the cab for the canopy I am finishing for my department... Napa and the like have both ends of it for a very reasonable price
