CenCom Sapphire Backlighting

Does anyone know if it is possible to set a custom backlight intensity for the Sapphire control head?

I've tried configuring one of the buttons as the "Backlight Switch" which cycles the backlighting between off-low-medium-high, however after I turn the vehicle off it seems to forget what setting it was at and defaults to off... which means every time I get into the vehicle I have to blindly mash at the buttons to try and turn the backlight back on.

I'm hoping someone knows how to get the sapphire to remember what the last backlight setting was or knows how to turn down the backlight intensity if left in default configuation with no backlight switch configured on the keypad.

With the Cencom Saphire in my truck I just extended the backlight wire to the wire that feeds the backlight of the headlight switch. When I dim the dash down the Cencom dims as well. The truck does the remembering. I drive a '13 F250, it uses a Pulse Width Modulated signal to dim the dash and dome lights. If you could create a PWM signal you could dim it as much as you need to. It will adjust the backlight intensity based on the pulse width. Actually creating the PWM signal is beyond me though. I've seen it done by little computer chips, but it goes way past my technical expertise. Good luck!
