Bought this on the bay since I've never seen one before. It was advertised as being in excellent condition and the photos supported that. It arrived yesterday... Seller neglected to adequately pack the bar so it bounced around in the box and broke in to pieces. Currently waiting for the glue to cure and hopefully it won't look terrible. Seller thankfully fully refunded me and admitted to their mistake. I'll add photos and video after

What I expected

What I received

Repaired. Not as nice as it should've been, but the main cracks are hidden to the back so it will display nice enough. I was surprised to locate a Dietz mark on the dome.

 Oh the agony of a package that's rattling upon delivery.
That poor light deserved better.
Can't wait to see a vid after the surgery.
Is there anything behind the filter or it catches the V mirror? Nice grab...

Updated the original post with pictures and video. Repair came out ok. I'll need to polish the dome another day. Nothing but the mirror for the red filter

The lens is a Dietz Omni-Chief lens 77-79001 (blue).
It is odd because it look shorter than it should be.
Is it cut at the bottom?
Unfortunatly these lenses seems to be rare.
I have looked for a pair to my Dietz build Smith & Wesson bar without any luck for over 10 years now.

Cheetah was a product name used by the company Northwest Law Enforcement Equipment Company in, I think, Oregon.

Thanks for the video and the pictures. It is a nice find and tragic that it arrived broken, but glad the seller made it right for you (as right as they can make it, anyway). You did a nice job on the repairs, Tony, but I'm still sad for you. :(

oh man that sucks the balls.

I just had USPS do this to 2 SD domes I sent out just recently.. and they were well packed.. I can only imagine what happens to those that are not padded properly.. jeesh.

Thank you @jph2 - I am happy with the front came out. That large chunk on the back was being quite stubborn and required some extra adhesive. When I have time I plan on trying to carefully blend it back in and polish the dome up well.

This box was undamaged, so it was simply seller neglect. I can't even imagine what happened to your box @Stampeed Valkyrie as I know you take care to pack well

@tsquale Yes I thought they were packed well too.. but apparently not good enough. The only saving grace is that the NOS dome arrived unscathed, but the 2 used domes were trashed... sucks the balls.

Possibly... but the lesson learned from my recent debacle is no matter how well you pack it.. some Dolt will eventually break it during shipping... just a matter of time. :(

@shues I believe so.
I have sent out quite a few things as of late.. some are and some are not.

I would have been madder than f**k if I received a rare minibar in that condition. I'd have told the sell "No....sorry doesn't cut it, not by a long shot. You knew DAMN WELL that this was a rare piece of equipment and neglected or didn't give a f**k to get it to your buyer in one piece safely. Hope you feel like s**t, because you deserve to feel like s**t."

I'm being brutally honest.....I'd have sent that exact response. We all expect to have sellers pack things properly if they know it's a hard-to-find item that they just sold, and that above. Man, I feel for ya, Tsquale.
