Picked this up in Iowa today and it's in great condition! Cheetah EEC LB7AD fullsize lightbar with 6 rotators and nothing else. Interestingly, it has Dietz domes labelled DZ 77-790 with DZ plastic magnifying alley lenses. Cool bar that will be at home in my collection of oddities!

This thing is stunning. I've always known about Cheetah brand lights. But I've never seen this model in my life. I would almost suspect that it's a frankenbar. But it is way to neat and clean to not be a production model. This was WaY ahead of it's time. Being an all-light lightbar, the use of magnifying glasses and the heavy use of mirrors throughout is all awesome.

Anyone here have a guesstimate on a date of production?

Cheetah was innovative in altering other brands' models to fit their purposes.

To throw a wasp into the hornet's nest, let's say this was one of the original sealed-beam Cheetah bars and someone deciphered the fact that his old Deitz Omni-Chief lenses fit the base. Now add-in a few Smith and Wesson rotators and Smith and Wesson mirrors and guts, steal the Smith and Wesson takedown and alley windows out of his pile of old domes because both they and the Omni-Chief lenses are flat on the front. Now, sit on it for 20-30 years after putting it to use and offer it to Tony! Whadda you think? Plausible?

Honestly, at one point or another they ALL used the same parts at least internally. SVP, Dietz, S&W,EEC.. all the same internals.

So yeah what @894 said!

There was a lot parts sharing and rebadging of entire beacons and bars among the various manufacturers.

While the parts may very well be common (as said, that's hardly uncommon), seems like the label makes a strong case for this being a factory setup vs something someone just threw together with spare parts. Can't tell exactly if that's the debate here or if I'm misunderstanding a reply or two.

Sorry, not trying to throw shade. I don't think it's a Frankenbar. Just making a valid point out of 894's jest.
