Anyone have info on whether CHP will continue to the II series of the liberty bar? I'm curious if they'll customize the heck out of it like their current bars or whether they'll do duo bars.

For some reason or another, I distinctly remember reading in the RFP that the winning EWL system shall be exclusive to the CHP. The language describing this included the hardware as well as the software.

I think the original Liberty is remaining in production exclusively for the CHP. The Raider Series has been discontinued to the general public, although it's still in use by the CHP. The only product line still available with front-loaded LIN6 modules is the Traffic Advisor Series, which will probably be replaced with an ION-based successor.

CHP has a history of keeping their lightbars in service for a long time, the Vision was in service for 8-10 years before being replace by the Liberty, long after most other agencies had migrated to LED's. I'm sure it has to do with size of their fleet and cost.
