CHP lights?

Got the change to buy these red and bleu light, they look interesting,
can anyone give me more info (also value wise)?... Are these lights to use on a police car?

Just an observation...
Red is on the left and blue on the right. That tells me, unless it was from a confused agency, it was most likely mounted facing rear. Could also mean the filters got shuffled, so that's not a "for sure" assumption. Tjey would be beautiful on the back of my Harley, no matter where they were used before. ;)

CHP used Dietz 9-51 in the 70’s regarding the information I got from CHP in 1978.
I should assume they went to Grote 6401 in about 1984 when they started to use the blue lamp.
The Grote 6401 is SAE approved in 1982.
In any case if you look closely you can see that the bezel on the red lamp is a Dietz one and not a Grote.
Whoever have changed that bezel we do not know. A previous owner or a mixup in the work shop at CHP?
Who knows.
