Back in the mid-90s, Volvo was going to try to enter the US market with a Turbo wagon. While initial reviews were good, when it came time for the MSP police vehicle testing, it had several issues that kept it from getting to it's top speed of over 140 MPH and a few other problems I believe with braking. Volvo pulled out.
