Is a CJ-24 A3 speaker rare to find? I have a lead on one for $30. I am thinking it would be a great addition to my CJ184 A3 Light.

I don't know about rarity, but a CJ24 looks good mounted on a Visibar rack. If the driver still works it's a good deal.

No.
It is a Atlas-Sound SD-70 driver and it was used in many different manufacturers speakers including their own ones.

The bolt secure the driver to the bracket or the housing depending of the speaker design.

Inside there is a little wadding. You do not need to have a bolt there but the hole in the driver is open to the membrane and a little back pressure will go out in the hole.
Moisture will also enter the driver that way so I should plug the hole with something, if nessesary.

I have a Model 11 Visibar with a CJ-24 on it.. the rear hole has a bolt through it that holds the rear of the speaker to adapter mount on the visibar..

I can probably drudge up a picture somewhere.. it might even be on elb.
