Has anyone else done this? I haven't yet, but I am thinking about colorizing the engraving on this beacon skirt. Anyone, from a collectors view point see a problem with this? Thoughts?

This is what I am thinking about doing.

I've done it with crayon on some firearms. Just rub whatever color across until you get a good fill then wipe off excess. If you dont like then hair dryer til it melts and wipe off. To get a shine like enamel paint lay work as flat as possible and heat til glossy. Wait til it cools then reassemble. There's lots of videos on it.

Not sure what it would do to the value. Would make it pop more.

I've always wondered why this wasn't done from the factory to make their product more recognizable. There will always be the purists who are against it, but I for one would really like to see how it comes out.

I used Testors paint to do my AR a few years ago. This is what gave me the idea.

I have wondered the same. This KD is really hard to see. I am going to do it and will post pics when I'm done. Will probably be next week before i have time.

Try orange or white. Thinner lines like that work better with brighter colors. I did tomato orange on the logo and white on the name here.....
