This is a kind of unusual vintage item.

Its a Colt, CHP detector. It is brand new in the original box.

From what I have been told its supposed to be able to detect California Highway Patrol cars within a certain distance of you vehicle. I have (2) of these available. They have never been taken out of the boxes.

Both have been sold :)

I now accept paypal or USPS postal money orders.

These 'COLT' scanners are rebranded Uniden BC560XLT scanners (which are AWESOME, Mine runs 24/7 and has for years!) They also had the COLT Z28, which was the same thing.

Very cool for sure! GLWS!

There's did work great. While the CHPs state wide radios operate on Low Band GE radios the officers carry Motorola HT1000's in VHF. For the VHF HT1000 to work the "extender in the car must be turned on. This product detects the VHF signal being relate to the HT1000. Witch worked great.

CHP is slowly switching over to 700 / 800mhz for their portable radios and have even completed the change in the Bay Area. It will still be several years (budget years) till they begin the change over again.
