7-40 is the manufacturer’s model number. The other codes are SAE approvals. W3 means 360 warning lights, and 70 and 80 refer to the year. As Dan said, same light, but different decades.
Thank You Sir, I was just going to ask that question. Would you know what replacment bulbs they would take?

Dietz lens markings Dietz 234 or DZ 77-234 depending on age.

PAR is a definition of the size of a sealed beam.
PAR means ”Parabolic Anodized Reflector”.

The normal types of sealed beams used in warning lights are either PAR36 and PAR46.

PAR36 is 36 eights-of-an-inch in diameter = 4 1/2”
PAR46 is 46 eights-of-an-inch in diameter = 5 3/4”
