Anyone out there using e-pcr's one a non touch screen computer. If so im looking for some incite. Our volunteer squad wants to get started and are all cleared from the state side but or laptops are not touch screen, any ideas or pointers. My main problem is that the medics, nurses, and patients have to sign things and not sure if it can be done with a non touch version. Or is there any accessories that we can buy to make this work.

If each user has to login then a signature is usually not necessary, as no one else could have generated a report with their name on it. We only sign the copies that we print for our records.

I have been told that medicare is now requiring the emt or medic in charge to sign their pcr's after they are wrote. Would that work for the feds then?

We drafted a seperate signature form for the Pt. to sign that includes HIPPA, release for payment, and fields if you have an unresponsive pt. that cannot sign, all on a standard sheet of paper. That form gets attached to a printed copy of the EMS run sheet. This form is accepted by the state and the billing company.
