Did anyone else catch one of the original ecto cars on the line last night? I seem to recall the light cars were rotator xls with clear domes, not strobe xls with blue domes.

How 'bout a video to answer your questions;)?

Check out the police car driving by 1:00 :haha: ;) .

In the second film, the Ecto 1A had two all clear-lensed Force 4 XL bars with red, green, blue, and amber mixed around, a Whelen strobe bar with green, amber and blue, a Code 3 550 red beacon on top of all the gadgetry on the roof, a Code 3 DashLaser on the left side of the grill, similar clear strobe lights in the grill, and a Code 3 ArrowStick to the rear.

The Force 4 bars on the original Ecto-1 cars were open halogen reflectors under blue domes. One of the original movie cars was rusting away on the back lot of a movie studio last time I saw anything about it. There was a post about it on one of the older boards and someone found some info and pics of it online. I haven't googled it lately, but there may be some info to be found about it there.

However, the XL bars on the Ecto-1A cars in the GB II sequel movie did have all clear outer domes, with several different colors of filters over the halogen rotators. As I recall, there was every safety color represented except red.

Also, notice the blue lenses at the ends of the bar on the GB II movie car. The Edge bars on those cars had original generation lenses with the all vertical optics that tended to fade badly in sunlight. They were even slightly teal colored in the movie, but the ones on that car are more of an Easter egg blue, so it has apparently been outside awhile.

BTW Hilo, PM coming your way shortly.

The car from the first movie looked great! The car from the second looked like the storm spotter from Hell..

That siren wasn't a siren. It was Layed over on the film. It was a sound that was made from several sirens, and just layed over the movie when needed. The car itself didnt have a siren that had that sound.

The coolest siren sound still has to be from Mad Max, and that one is real. :)
