I have a Whelen Edge 9000 model 9308 and cannot seem to locate the right wiring diagram ANYWHERE for this bar. Lately it has been blowing the fuse for the main power to the bar, and I havent been able to figure out if it is shorting out somewhere or not, or anything.

I have a bunch of questions:

Does your bar have 3 seperate cables exiting the bar. 1 with two 12 awg conductors 1 red one black, 1 with several conductors ~16-18 awg, and one white and black?

I am tring to determine if you have a direct (high current switching bar) or the relay matrix version.

From your discription it sounds like it is the relay type. If that is the case you could have a short on any one of the cables.

Does it burn out the fuse when you add stand by power to the bar or on certain functions.

I has the 3 different cables coming out of the bar, I havent found a manual anywhere I've looked for one. I found a manual for a 9M but those all vary, I hooked the 12 AWG red cable directly on the battery, and fused it at 30A. But it is really destroying those fuses now.

I couldn't find any 9308 literature on whelen's list either.

Do you have the bar on a vehicle, or? Any pics of the inside of the bar/board?

I have some similar older Edge bar boards that might work for you.

But I would go through the bar & follow all the wires (starting with the large red/black) & make sure nothing has rubbed through or grounding out.

Sounds like you either have a short on the power(stand-by) cable(which is the red and black 12 awg) or it has a problem with the relay board in the bar.

The realy board is located behind the rear, drivers side corner strobe. <EDIT.. located behind the strobe from factory> That may have changed if someone else got into the bar.

I would unplug the red and black 12 awg cables from the realy board, and power directly "with an in-line fuse", and see if it continues to blow fuses.
