Has a globe from a Dietz Vesta Lantern in it. Flashes. My thought is a roadside emergency light. Anyone ever seen one?

A late 70s "personal strobe" warning device to replace roadside flares.

I like it. Top and base fit the globe. The only thing not looking right is the flasher.
