There is an early model of the FA3 that only has 3 prongs. The later models had
the 3 prongs plus a ground wire.
As previously stated, the X is 12vdc in, the two L's are 12vdc out to the lights. Max is 10 amps per side. Make sure you ground the lights that you are flashing ;).
These FA3 flashers have been known to go bad. Double check your connections.

I’ve ACTUALLY used them many times and the instructions you were already given are correct.

The wiring directions came with the flasher. so we are good there.

The issue is when power was applied ..the flasher made its clicking sound and the selected lights on the aerodynic illuminated but failed to flash. subsequently the flasher failed to operate alltogether. The flasher was the newer type with the ground wire attached and was installed per the directions.

Flasher is now dead ...ordered a new one hopefully someone might have some insight as to what went wrong.

Is it possible your 2 flashing lights were wired to flash together before you started this project? Imagine installing a headlight flasher, you wire L1 and L2 to the two headlights BUT you have to cut the factory wire connecting the left and right lights for it to alternate flash. If you don't do that, they will illuminate together and the flasher may die. Disconnect the flasher and make sure that powering one light doesn't also light the other light.
