Hello all.

I have a new arrival to my collection and wanted to share.

This is my second factory short Aero. I really like these bars and they don't come available too often.

This is a 24SEH. It is fully functional. It just needs some cleaning inside and out. Shows normal wear, expected from in service equipment. Both lens are in good shape, not cloudy just in need of polishing.

As always comments are welcomed.

Thanks for looking and have a good day!

Chris

Definitely an unusual bar and looks to be in good shape to start. I like the antenna mounted on the speaker housing; gives it character. ;)

Very nice!  The short Aerodynics are not all that common and I'm guessing that it being a Series A1-G that it may have been near the end of production of the synchronized Aerodynics.

I do also. Typical for the period. A lot of installers put the hole saw to the top of speaker sections, but I personally don't believe the practice benefitted the radio reception. It did make it easier to install coax running it with the bar wiring harness and one less hole in the roof of the vehicle.

I have went though this bar and cleaned all the spray lube that someone thought would help this little guy out. They went crazy with this stuff. I haven't began on the lens yet, but the cleaning and proper lubing of parts actually made this bar rotate faster. I have changed the flash pattern also to something a little more eye catching. See pics below of the process.

Stripped to the base.

Dis assembly of the fixture mounts. Notice all the tan lube covering, well everything.

The motor date: 06/79

Finally cleaned and lubed properly.

And finally some light bar porn:

I like it!

You have an older bar for sure, with a motor date prior to 1980. I have 2 AeroDynics from '78 and '79 and both of them have the bare aluminum frame inside the lenses just like yours, as opposed to the "newer" (after 1980-ish) black inner frames.

1979, first year for the ABS plastic stationary light holders.  I would have thought this bar would have been newer, but nope, you have a very old Aerodynic!

Does anyone have an approximate value, ballpark of course, for this bar? I am just trying to get a general idea for my records. I understand there isn't a "bluebook" to reference for items like this, just trying to get an average feel from those who know more about Aeros than I do.

Thanks!

The bottom black paint on the frame seems to be flaking from the first pics. Even there, I'd say at lest 150$ Older synchronized AeroDynic supplies seems to dwindle down with time, Full size frame are not "that" easy to come by. Medium and small ones even harder...

In the 6 years I've been on ELB, I've seen about 10 small AeroDynics go by...
