Federal Signal Model 15 Beacon Ray Junior

My Beacon Ray Jr came in today. It does need a little work, I knew this when looking at this light. I bought it because of the fact it has a glass dome. This is my 3rd peice of my collection, and my first glass dome.

The plate that is below the rotating seems a little loose, but the screws are tight. Maybe it needs new bushings/spacers?

Looks great. I always like the JBR. Illinois State Police use to run these inside unmarked cars between the seats in the 70s. Glass domes are great.

That plate is anantivibration plate. The 3 screws go through rubber bushings, and should have some play. There should be rubber over and under the plate at each screw. The plate should sit on the lower rubbers, not metal on metal.

I like it. 0000 steel wool can be used on the glass lense to remove any rub marks or paint swaps.
It also can be used on the base if the base is chrome. That along with a product called Nevrdull goes a long way at making these things shine again.

I’ve got a fully restored ( by me) with amber glass dome mounted on my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500.
