I looked under the thread "Evolution of the Vitalite" and the "Timeline of Equipment' thread. It says the Series A2 was made until 1975, but this one has a "Date Code" of "01311". It is also Federal Signal, so I am thinking this is maybe Jan 03, 2011? #dmathieu

A lot can be determined by looking at the type of label. On many of the lights the earlier versions used metal ID tags screwed or riveted on. The later versions were the stick on labels. Vitalite seems to be one of them where this applies. This rule certainly does not carry on with all the manufacturers. Whelen is a prime example where they used the stick on labels back in the early 70's, maybe earlier.
