Picked up this FHP Javelin. Response mode definitely purpley (which camera makes worse) and bar certainly and understandably has its haters, but it's an interesting bar nonetheless. I show the mode 2 red/day to blue/night color switch in a couple different places in video.

(One outer dome did crack in shipping if anyone has a comparable one for sale.)

That is very cool! Thanks for the great video showing the day/night switch. I was surprised to see it happens relatively quickly and without hesitation. Superb addition

Scott, how do you come up with all this super stuff :):)
That is one cool bar.
Now, how do you get away with doing videos on the coffee table ?? My wife would
go nuts on me.

There's definitely some tension over the light bar habit. I toe the line as best I can. I am pretty careful to not scratch the table, though it's a risky move for sure.

Thanks Tony. Yeah the switch is definitely the highlight of the bar. Excites me more than it should.

I was never a fan of these bars when they switched from FedSig to the Javelin. The purple takedown mode was the worst. I'm no Code 3 expert, but they did progress from a TIR setup to a LIN setup with the more recent FHP Javelins, that wasn't as bad these.

However, no disrespect to your item, it's cool to have a piece of Florida history on your wall.

No disrespect taken. I tend to collect bars I think look good. This one, though, isn't in the collection for that reason. I never much liked the look of these in service (in large part bc the domes were usually badly hazed). Have to give credit to FHP and C3 for doing something new and different, though, even if execution not perfect. Bar pushed things forward and can reasonably be considered a stepping stone to the newer (and, yes, much slicker) duo and trio stuff.

OHP (Oklahoma) were early adopters of the 911 bars that mixed red/blue that looked purple from a distance, but couldn't change flash patterns or modes. As a side note, the nearby town of Moffett (recently under 8' of flood waters from the Arkansas River--for two weeks!), has an old OHP cruiser as one of their 2 cruisers still outfitted with the 911 bar!
