The 2010 and 2011 Ford Fusion are gaining popularity and I am wondering what people are installing in them.

I need to install TLF, HLF, grill and deck lights.

Thanks, Ran

I did a pair of Fusions a bit ago. Simple detectives cars, not much to them. Overall, it wasn't too bad and the only thing that really stands out is that you will have to drop the front fascia to access the headlights. In fact, you would need to drop the front fascia just to simply change a headlight bulb...it is not possible to do it otherwise due to the limited space, headlamp design, and the pact that the bulbs are completely contained in the light housing. All wiring is internal to the housing and there are sealed rubber covers on the access hole. Hard to explain, but a blown headlight bulb is not an operator level fix in this car.

Actually, I think install shops could start chasing this market...advertise in local papers that you change out headlight bulbs. Price it cheaper than the dealerships and I think it would be successful.

basic package for a fusion

FRONT:

dual viper or avenger on dash and/or slimlighter above the RVM

2 ghosts for the grill

vertexes in fog lights and sides for intersection

HLF

REAR:

dual viper or avenger centered on rear deck

TLF or LAWs

Dont bother with dropping the underside just to access the headlights. Ive done 12 Fusions from 2009-2011.

Remove the battery, then remove the underhood fuse box and you will see two fuses marked HI LEFT and HI RIGHT or close to that. take the box apart, and you can access the wires that run from the fuses to both headlights. Cut and splice there. Much cleaner looking install.

On the rear i use a UBF5150D Whelen flasher or sometimes iv'e used the Whelen HRCV98 kit with good success.

Some of the 12 i did were for the USPIG and we did a Slimlighter MM on the windshield and on the back deck.

Thank you for the info thus far. I want to make this as simple, but effective, as possible.

Have there been any problems with TLFs? Whelen said to be ok. What about other brands?

Where are you mounting the siren/switch boxes? All of the ones around here are coming with the rear deck speakers which protrude down and make mounting difficult.

What hook kit would you use on a Fusion? Federal doesn't make one that I know if that is specific to the Fusion. Is the roof close enough to the Focus that you could use that hook kit?

I was thinking about installing it on the main beam behind the front grille, but i was concerned with the bumper sensor there... is this safe?

Thats redicilous! Thats one thing I love about the CVPI. Pull the metal piece up and the assembly pops out. Easy access to corner lamps and headlights.
