So, last night I heard sirens galore, so I turned on the scanner.
Loveland Fire was on their way to a fully involved structure fire on the very west end of their district. After they had been on scene for about 15 minutes, there was tones for MVA Extrication, Standyby in the area, 1 at gunpoint. Don't hear that everyday! Since a structure fire pretty much uses almost all the resources in our city, an off duty battalion was called in, and so was the operations chief to respond to the MVA. They also had a neighboring engine, and a few engines with the recall crew on them.
It wasn't that far away so I drove over to get some photos.
I am not entirely sure what happened but judging from the radio traffic, the white truck driver ran, or was involved in a chase, and the black truck just happened to be in the wrong place. The Driver of the white truck was allegedly tazed, and taken to the jail. The guy in the black truck had his legs pinned very badly and I would say it took 30-45 to extricate him. No one was killed, and the ambulance left non-emergent with the driver of the black pickup so I assume he was fairly stable. The black truck had major damage to the driver side of the truck, and the white truck had major damage to the passenger side. The black truck also shattered a telephone pole and took out power to most of the street lights.
On scene was a few of the vehicle we have put together, including the Loveland Bomb Truck (http://elightbars.org/forums/f34/2013-chevy-3500-police-department-bomb-unit-57635/) , The Loveland Operations Tahoe (Vehicle Install 2014 Chevy Tahoe - Operations Chief) and a cso van.
