I just purchased a 1987 Mustang SSP used by Jefferson County Police in Louisville Ky. My plan is to restore the car to in service condition for car shows etc. I cannot find any info on the bar used in this photo, and it doesn’t look familiar to me.

That’s most likely a 38” bar then. Thank you!

That's a 47inch bar. The 38 inch doesn't have a speaker section.

Were the take downs and alley lights separate bulbs like the MX7000 or just clear spots in the lenses? I've never worked with the LP6000's.

Thanks for the link to that thread. From the sound of it, stingrays should have been installed on the bar. How hard will it be to find lenses with the take down and alley in them?

just an FYI stingrays were an option.
doesn't mean yours needs them.

You will need to determine the layout with some research, there were many ways to build the LP6000.

I know it had alleys for sure from the photos. Were the take downs the same style of light as the alleys? I’m guessing there would be flashers behind the take downs. I’d like the bar to be operational but simple as possible. I am a volunteer fire fighter but I doubt I’ll use the car to respond much.

Very nice vehicle! (Having grown up in Derby City, I'm of the vintage I prefer the 70s gold livery of the JCPD cars--Q on the hood and 174 glass dome on the roof. Classic!). Keep us posted on your restoration and remember, videos are required! :)
Thanks!! I’m not old enough to remember those cars, I was born at Audubon hospital in 1981 and grew up in Charlie district. I’m thinking of starting a YouTube channel to document the restoration.

Just down the street from St. X where I graduated in 1972 (100th graduating class)!
How many blocks were on the back wall of room 119?

Class of 1999 here!!
