Homemade Chevrons

Anyone here ever make their own chevrons? I finished the van today, though one chunk peeled up while removing the masking (will touch that up by hand later this week). Also, I didn't mask the bumper or the body outside of the doors because these areas are both scheduled for re-painting and blue tape isn't getting any cheaper. The other is my '71 Dodge. I have been told that that set is backward, and while it is backward of what you usually see, I had a reason for setting them that way. Picture if the stripes in the chevron were lane markings. Wouldn't you want them to start in the bottom/center and end at the top/outer edges? That way, the pattern is directing traffic away from the vehicle, rather than to the center of it. Why didn't I just buy real chevrons? This is a $600 van and a $700 truck. I can reuse electronic equipment on another vehicle if these go bad. I can't reuse chevrons, though, unless they are magnetic.

chevrons are still backwards on the truck.

Backward chevrons are worst then no chevrons.

I wouldn't go that far. Reflective is reflective, even if it were stars, stripes, circles, or whatever.
nope, actually backward chevrons send drivers right to the middle of your truck, instead of to the sides. Chevrons work with the brain sub-conscious. its the same with colors.

People thing more lights mean more safe, when in reality its the opposite. Colors mean different things to our brains. Yellow means caution, and thats why in NYS the State patrol makes sure to have lots of amber in their vehicles.
