CA - Land of Steady Red
Firstly, forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place. I've not been on the site in years, and it appears a lot has changed. I *think* this is the right place to post this, but I'm unsure.

Our "Industrial VFD" recently received a donation of a 1985 Honda FourTrax ATV. We got it running and it has already proven its worth in responses.

We need to add lights & a siren to it. Obviously LED is going to be the only way to go based on current draw and the tiny electrical system the thing has.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of equipment might be suitable for this vehicle? Obviously a 100W+ siren is going to be a no-go for OSHA reasons.

Any further suggestions on simple controls for the thing? I would think all we would need is lights on/off and siren on/off.

The only minimum requirements are a steady red to the front, no white light to the rear.

Appreciate any suggestions!

I would look in the direction of equipment made for police motorcycles. Im familiar with Whelen products, Ive built SXS units before, and used a siren/amp 1 piece unit, with a 3-way switch that is handlebar mountable. The switch has a button for lights, siren, and airhorn.

As far as lightheads go, Im a fan of the Whelen IONs, they are very durable, and draw on average less than an .5 amp per lighthead.
