Did you already do those (I want to say you posted some pics of those cars before, a light bar, PB with speaker, and OEM HLF/TLF, right?) or are they getting some stuff added? Either way, lucky dept to have you working on them

i know what ur thinking of RL1; i believe that they were similar basic setups but that the graphics were slightly different and i believe that it was a fedsig lightbar on the other setup

I've built a few Chargers for this department before as seen here:

http://www.elightbars.org/forums/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=176

What you see are 4 of 5 new Chargers for this same department in the first stages of building. I like to "assembly line" the cars when I have more than two to build, so the first things that are installed are PBs, light bars, decals and do the interior strip. Look closely at the photo, and you'll see that there are a couple cars without speakers and lights on the PBs, as I'm waiting for the rest of the equipment to proceed.

I think its interesting on how some regions favor a model over others. It seems like you do a lot of Chargers in your area. In NE Ohio, we are about 20% Impala, 20% Charger, 50% CVPI, and 10% of the mix-Tahoe, Explorer, etc. Seems like you do around 50% Chargers Cajun!

I'm probably doing more of a 60/40 mix Chargers to Vics, but I sure hate doing Chargers! The propeller-head designers surely didn't factor in what it takes to install after-market equipment in the Charger, because I'm having to remove 3/4 of the interior and trim just to get the wires and cables routed. And to top that off, most of the trim is screwed in, so just going around popping off moldings like in the Vic doesn't happen.

But I digress.......it's a job at least. I'd still take a Vic to do any day over the Charger.

I have the Police Fleet Manager issue where they celebrate the California Highway Patrols 50 years of their Motor Transport Section. They have pictures in theire of their "assembly line."

I've tried to subscribe to that magazine at least 8 times, and have never received anything but a sample issue. I'm not sure what else I have to do to prove I'm in the industry to get on the elite subscribers list......

If only I had a shop like CHP....oh my.....

I never had a problem subscribing. One time they cancelled me and it took a lil bit to get back on the list. Try calling them?

I'm not sure what TV Show it was, but if followed several CHP officers for awhile and at the beginning they showed footage of the CHP shop and they were building several crown vics. Kinda cool to see, I will look around for link to a video.

Looks like another Mandeville unit in the mix too. I've seen a few of those on stops.....DAMN they're bright!!!!

You are correct! This Mandeville unit will replace one totaled in a MVA. I'm going with an all amber ILS in the rear glass instead of a Dominator, and back to a Rumbler (they didn't like the Howlers as much)on this unit. The Tomar Scorpion is a mainstay though. Should be interesting!
