Looking to install a pair of PAR36 heads in the spot where there should be fogs in an 07 suburban. This is an LS base model and does not have fogs in the position just body blank panels.

What model TIR Par is required to be ordered with what mounting accessories?

How is it best installed?

Thanks

Whelen 200 Series TIR6 PAR36 LEDs + GM OEM foglamp housings

Has anyone successfully replaced their GM (Yukon/Tahoe/Suburban/Sierra/Silverado/etc) OEM fog lamps with Whelen 200 series PAR36 TIR6 LEDs?

I've been told by several professional upfitters to get the Charger mounting kit and customize it to my needs but, I've also been told that the big W doesn't sell "just the kits". They will however sell me the "needed" parts for right at $100  . Still, these parts would be for a Charger and not a GM truck.

Has anyone made it work? How did you do it? Pics would be great. I will probably update this thread with more info and pics as it becomes available.

And here's what the lights look like, for reference:

That appears to be a pretty simple retrofit. You should simply spend the money and make it work. Or, leave your fog lamps alone, go buy some rubber pedestal housings for your light heads, and utilize them in a different location.

Upon cajunblitz's request I took a picture to show the size difference. The picture makes it look a bit more extreme than it is but, there is still a significan difference.

2006 GMC Sierra. I did some looking at the surface mount flanges last night. I think I should be able to get those, and fabricate something to make it work out without spending the big bucks.

Got the flanges in today, and they fit the housing very well. I should have them in in a couple of weeks if things go to plan. That is, IF it stops raining here anytime soon.

Here's what I did...

I found some angle braces at none other than Wal Mart. Believe it or not, it holds these suckers on there tight. They ain't gonna budge. Instead of using the screws that came with the flanges, I used some bolts that way I could tighten them down. It looks pretty good from the front and the back looks like mini swastikas but hell, it works fine. ;)

I just did an '08 TLZ.

Used Axixtech PAR36 LEDs and the Charger bracket.

Knock out the bolts on the charger bracket (not long enough) and replace them with 2 inch 10-24 in each hole.

Throw the spacers to the side (not needed) and screw the plate directly to the back of the PAR36. The screw heads from above will provide enough space to not crush the wires.

Place the light in the housing and push two of the bolts through where the nubs are/were.

Used washer and nit supplied with charger bracket and tighten accordingly.

My camera is down, but when I get it operational (needs a new battery) I will get picks and get them posted.

BTW-the above project was a nice distraction from a previous week from hell.

I'm not sure if there were any body style changes between 2007 MY and 2010 MY trucks but Whelen now offers a PAR36 with Tahoe specific bracket.
