No bangs and booms is fine, but the reason for the helmets is that these are tactical vehicles. Hence, no crumple zones, no airbags, no head rests, and everything inside is exposed metal. So if you wreck or roll your head gets bounced around like nobody's business, smacking in to every exposed piece of metal inside.
