For 911 Custom install shop, Olathe, KS.

This was an interesting install, especially on the back side. Just a heads up, Ford is now making its headlights and taillights with double-wall housings (so hideaways are a pain in the ass).

Specs:

2010 Ford F150 w/camper shell & custom fiberglass shelves (in the sides)

Lights (all Whelen):

Liberty Duo-color LED bar (red/blue, amber traffic advisor)

Dominator Plus 8-head amber traffic advisor (in the shell)

Dominator Plus 6-head red/blue light stick (behind the grill)

Dominator Plus 2-head red/blue light sticks (on the sides near the running boards)

LINZ6 red/blue split lightheads (front quarter panel and rear license plate bracket)

LAW LED clear hide-a-ways (front fog lights)

Vertex super-LED red lightheads (rear taillights, one pair each)

Noise (all Whelen):

CenCom Gold (primary)

Alpha 12m (secondary)

Howler (testicles)

SA315 dual speakers

Misc:

MNStar Enforcer wiring harness

Havis 22" vehicle-specific console

And now for the eye-candy

With this one, note that you can't see ANY of the wiring added for the harness and power center.

Not bad at all. I like the photo effect on the last few pix with the lights turned off.

Also, I'm curious - did you turn the lights all to steady-burn to take the pictures?\

He's referring to the lightbar being the Liberty Duo that can change colors.

Yep.

I'll send you a PM with that info.

Could you do some inside pics please i would love to see inside.

I can't find them! :S I do believe we have to swing up to their station sometime soon to get something fixed with the console, so I'll get some then as soon as possible. I do have other projects with interior shots as well, so you can gawk at those for the time being. ;)

Great install and nice choice of lighting. I'm not a fan of split lightheads or R/B on fire trucks.

I'm not a fan of red/blue on fire apparatus either, but that's what Johnson County goes with (and that goes for all of the departments in the county, including Overland Park, Lenexa, Olathe, Leawood, etc.).

Actually, that's just a combination of having a really fast camera and Photoshop. I take about 20 consecutive pics to get at least one shot with each head firing on each part of the bar, front lights, etc., and then I just combine them with Photoshop.

The three HDR shots are actually three photos taken at different exposure levels and then combined with PhotoMatix to get the effects you see there. Pretty awesome stuff.

What did you use to wrap all the wiring with?

The wiring is actually pre-wrapped by MNStar. It's a nylon-plastic composite braid, and it's tough as hell. Makes for keeping things organized really easy, especially during the install.

If you really wanted to make a lot of noise you could put a mechanical Q siren on that truck instead.

They typically run $200-$400 each depending on what you get, and what options you get with them (hint: get the ones with bare-wire ends...the pre-fab connectors aren't worth the money). We are a factory dealer for them, so if you're interested, shoot us a holler (preferably if you're in the Kansas/Missouri/Nebraska/Oklahoma area).

We're not allowed to touch Federal stuff. ;P

Actually, I need to just move them to a new folder. Thanks for the heads up. They'll be up tomorrow.

On a side note, if you check the new Whelen Fire/EMS catalog, this vehicle was placed on the fourth page I believe.

UMMMMM ok?

That was humor. The Howler is a low-frequency siren that has a tendency to induce vibrations in smaller vehicles without much sound padding. Hence the "testicles" part. ;P
