KSP "JellyJar"

Glad to finally know the brand name! Mine was atop our 1952 Ford tanker a very rural VFD (east of Louisville KY) with a 78B on the front fender. When the truck was retired, my brother (chief at the time) snagged the light. It polished up nicely under my buffing wheel. Sadly the siren had been stolen, but I found another and John “Sirenman” Dorgan restored it for me.

That’s because it was kept indoors nearly its entire existence. It was donated by KSP when the started using 17s (1956) as the “tanker” was “built” at the LaGrange Reformatory; a 1000 gal unbaffled steel tank mounted to a flatbed. Very basic as was the tactics of the period—surround & drown. We never lost a foundation!
