Legend Pattern Not Staying Programmed

I have multiple Federal Signal Legends that I am trying to change the patterns on but am having issues. They are controlled with a SS2000SM and is set up for external SM control. I follow the instructions to change the patterns, unplug power to the SIM, flip switch 6, plug in power, change patterns from Mode 3 then 2 then 1, unplug power and then flip switch 6.

The patterns will stay set for a day or two and then out of no where they will revert back to the factory defaults. This happens on multiple vehicles. The vehicles have both the new style and old style SIM's. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've never programmed one, but have you seen this video on programming one? He talks for a while, but about 6 minutes into the video he shows programming steps. Might see what he's doing compared to what you are doing. (If you're using the same controller??) If the video doesn't help maybe you can ask him a question or two -- looks like he's good at answering questions. Sorry I can't help much more, here's the link to his video:

Update -- sorry, I see it's not the same control you're using, but still might not hurt to ask this guy if he knows any secrets.
