I just pulled this from the rear deck of my patrol CVPI. This is a custom Rear deck light that I built.

Started with a 44" flush mount Edge frame. Installed 6ea 6x6 and 2 6x0 400 series. The 2 6x0 are in the center with the voided section(s) on the bottom as it was behind the third brake light. Nothing like having a Freedom INSIDE the car! I built custom brackets for this, which kept it tight to the deck, so once it was installed, the top of the bar was only 1 inch higher than an Inner Edge. The vid was recorded on low power. Those that have seen this know that this is one killer deck light.

I keep trying to figure out how to distract you when I'm at your place so I can put it in my truck. But I am very sure you would notice it within seconds.... This is a nice setup and very effective.

Finally got vids/pics taken of this, it's been in my garage since the summer. Strobe tubes are new, lens are new, housing was professionally cutdown from a longer unit. Flash patterns are changed via button combination. Not satisfied with the cabling, but it works for now. I'd like to find a longer, single cable capable of running this vs 3 6-wire cables. Vid was taken in low power.

That traffic advisor looks sweet! I really wanted to build one using a whelen traffic advisor frame but I just stuck to using a Federal Signalmaster instead. (posted a few pages back.) Nice work and the cables don't look all that bad either.

Chris, that came out really nice! I have something on the bench in "The Lab" that you might just like.... stay tuned!
Thanks David, yeah it was a nice project to work on. I'm very interested to see what you have cooking up in "The Lab". haha. I will definitely stay tuned.

Hey now that is cool. I was tempted to do the same to a NOS AdvantEdge I once had but I just couldn't see myself disassembling a nice bar. It now belongs to a very well-know Whelen member. (we all know who he is, lol.) That lightbar looks great....I would have thought it would be an eye sore in your rearview mirror.

It was only an Eyesore for the people behind me! :D Seriously, it only set 1 inch higher than the InnerEdge we have in another unit. It fit like a glove back there.

I recently rebuilt my Freedom.

Now I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with it. I'm definitely not going to replace my current lightbar on my Excursion. I don't want to put it on a wrecker due to a lack of S/T/T lights and the fact that it's only 48". And it's for sure not going to work well on my Mustang convertible.

If anyone is interested, shoot me an offer, I guess. I don't particularly want to get rid of it, but I might for the right offer.

Nothing too exciting, but I got the idea from our installer who does this for Chargers:

I took an extra talon and added it to the Whelen Ford CHMSL so I could reuse it on one of our Chargers. The flash pattern I chose seems to line up with the alternating between the CHMSL, so it looks pretty good.

I am not sure if someone else has done this already, so I thought I would post this.

I have a 55" Ultra Freedom, and wanted to add LR11 Takedowns in place of the standard 400 haloden module(s). I came up with this idea. This allows me to replace the 400 Halogens with additional 400 series LEDs instead of using those spots for LED takedowns alone.

I took a pair of LR11 takedowns, and custom fitted them to the "Spacer" brackets on 47" and 55" bars. The came out very nice IMHO. Thoughts?

So my the chief here bought a new truck 2012 Dodge Ram Mega cab.

I had orginally made him a 44' Arjent.

So I had to come up with something else.

Here's what we have.

I bought an extra frame from (fsfr809 off ebay) then took a Vista frame and the center section out.

Laid the 2 end pices together and the 2 center section and measured the distance and was 35". The 44" vista frame is 26" and cut what i needed from the doner frame.

Used 2 metal plates that come with the feet to put it together.(small note if you know somebody that can weld aluminum better off when putting together).

Found out not grounded by plates either ground sections together inside or outside.

Ok enough of that.

I used 12 cudas in it and for the ends I had from another project some cudas from 2 Raydian end caps as seen in pics. The are 7 section and took the ones with1-2 lights bent them around to fit the ends all the lights are driven by a Sho-me 11.1005SF flasher. Then took 2 MR11 code3's for the allys going to come up with something to lower them down after seeing they are right in line with the screw moun. Standard TD's and put in a 6 lamp TA.

This will be controlled by a Code3 mastercom 3892L6 & Code3 Delux controller.

Vid to come after install.

Took an old broken Amber Federal Signal Double Flash Strobe Beacon...

Removed guts, added a green/amber Sound Off Universal Hideaway, and a new clear lens. Have to add its custom painted in John Deere Yellow, with a John Deere Green pipe mount!

I needed a quick fix for some proper intersection lighting on the Federal Signal Raydian my patrol car came issued with since the CUDAs are not very effective or bright in my opinion. I saw that there were TWO alleylights and one was more of a flood and one was a spot light. I removed the Flood lamp and installed some TIR3s that i think i bought from Centexpse along time ago and just wired them up. They do a pretty good job took me around 30 min to do on my day off.

Used a Sho-me mini shell 11.200.000 I bought off a member awhile back(can't remember name right now) Got 8 FS Gen1 leds wired into a Sho-me 7 pattern flasher

11.1005TSF (mpaine) and a on/off/momentary plug switch (Brooks).

As for the momentary switch needed to rewire to work. Took the ground off and changed it to a positive wire.

I have it in red right now but have blue, clear and 1 yellow that can be put in.

It will be listed for sale.

Can change lights to individuale needs.

More projects coming soon

Here is a Jetstream I picked up from a Police Auction a few weeks ago.

It had a no cable or lights in it.

I added a new cable,2 takedowns,4 Solaris 6 diode heads to the front.

And 2 9 led Slorais pods to the rear.

Just ordered 4 more of the 9 led pods for it.

Hear are some pics & a video.

Looks great! Are you planning to move the 6-LED heads to the corners once you get the other 4 9 LED heads? I think they'd make good corner modules.

Not sure yet. I had thought about facing them to the sides.

Because I/m not sure if they'd mount good at a angle.

Got another B&B Custom bar to share... Everyone knows what a "Candy Cane" bar is... I decided to make my own, but not red, so I'm calling it a "Rock Candy" bar (get it, rock aka Boulder... lol)

- 22" Whelen LFL Frame

- 4 Whelen Short Corners. Blue

- 2 Whelen CON-3s, Blue

- 2 Feniex Fairy's in custom Whelen 500 Series Halogen heads (in the endcaps), Blue

- Clear Endcaps and center sections, blue corner sections

The 6 Whelen Heads are run off of a LED Responder Flasher and the Feniex Fairys are just tapped into the main power coming into the bar. I also am using a full responder ciggy cord with pattern change...

And here are some pics...

Ok now what the hell is that in your windshield? It flashes like it might be a halogen light, but it looks like the effect may be simulated. If it's actually halogen, that's an adequate fix for getting rid of the strobes.

...Actually, no. The new LED bar is great and it looks like you've put some good work into it, but seriously, put the strobes back.

Its actually a Whelen Single Talon sety on steady... I'm not sure why the video captured it that way... I took the vid with my PlaySport digital camcorder and my phone and it did the same on both... lol

Well the Patriot is on a shelf in my garage awaiting install on a friends truck (its now all red/clear)... The next bar for my Av will be the Liberty I'm building... lol

Well I got board one night and decided I would bid on a China led dash light on ebay, I ended up winning it for $11 shipped. Two weeks later it arrived all the way from China. It was a 4 diode Tir style amber led with 4 flash patterns, not very bright during the day but ok at night and it did not recall the last set pattern, over all not bad for $11.00. I decided today that I didn't like it and I had a Star SVP DLX4 laying around (a very bright little light) so I took apart the China light and made a custom plate to slide in the existing housing, mounted the DLX on the plate and added a nice cigar plug to it then put it all to gather and ended up with a nice little light. Here it is !!! The original photo is also attached.

okay sooooooooooooo this I just threw together last month, and I actually like it.

Consists of:

1 empty highlighter shell (got from bill lathrop.....Bill L on here)

2 fast star rotators I got from tcfd823 (they're brand new)

The wiring is gonna be better, once it gets warmer out (whever that happens).

I can have this bar be either blue OR amber (due to getting an amber dome from chris martin, that needed help)

Anyways, enough of me talking...........heres the video: (pics will be added when my camera charges)

That is really strange. It would make a great pettern though. I swore it was halogen from the video!

Welcome to The Matrix- where most "steady burn patterns" for led lights are actually flashing.. The human eye simply perceives it as steady burn due to the flash rate.

Same thing with TV hertz (Hz) flash rates.. Bet you don't see that blinking either.. ;)

Here's a bar I just completed. All I need now are some new lenses and I'll be mounting it on my Avalanche...

Started life as a Patriot "parts bar" I got from a sweet-ass 2 lightbar deal from FreshDave04. I stripped the strobe/halogen guts out of it and set the frame aside knowing that I'd be building a liberty out of it... (that was well over a year ago, lol)

Here's the list of components for the bar...

- Whelen SX Liberty I/O Board

- 4 Whelen 9-LED Short Corners, Blue

- 7 Whelen CON-3 500 Series Lightheads, 2 Amber & 5 Blue

- 2 Whelen LIN-6 500 Series Lightheads, Blue

- 2 Whelen SXTDLED Take-Down Lights, White

- 2 Feniex Fairy LED HAWs, Blue, Custom Mounted in Whelen 500 Series Halogen Lightheads

- 4 Feniex Python T-4 Lightheads, Blue, Dual Stacked

Front Set-up: (From Left to Right)

Light: Corner - Dual T-4s - SXTDLED - LIN-6 - CON-3 - LIN-6 - SXTDLED - Dual T-4s - Corner

Color: Blue ----- Blue ------ White ---Blue --- Blue --- Blue ---- White ---- Blue ----- Blue

Flash: Action -- Triple ------- TD ----Action - Steady - Action --- TD ---- Triple ----- Action

Rear Set-up: (From Left to Right)

Light: Corner - CON-3 - CON-3 - CON-3 - CON-3 - CON-3 - CON-3 - Corner

Color: Blue ---- Blue ---- Blue --- Blue --- Blue ---- Blue --- Blue --- Blue

Flash: Action - Action - 75 FPM - Action - Action - 75 FPM - Action - Action

Feniex Fairys in the Alley Light spots are on a really fast quad/quint flash...

Enough on the explanation, on to the pics/vids!!!

i like it because it is different. just curious as to why you used 3 center domes, as aposed to using a standard mini dome and making the filters set up the same.

also, not 100% on this but i think FS did make a 3 rotator verison on this. Have to have the FS experts answer that one

Umm, are you sure about that. Here's mine and it has 3 rotators with mirrors. (2 slow and 1 center fast rotators) Mine is original, not custom.

By the way...I really like how you built your lightbar using a center, solid color dome with the 2 clear outer domes with colored lenses. Very unique and creative.
