i am about at wits end with these things. this is the second one im on for a customer im trying to work with. I sold him one that I had that was working fine. he installed it, and the AUX1 relay isnt firing and the horn ringback refuses to work in manual

now i get another one here (not from anyone on this board, atleast i dont think so)

and its even more messed up

all the lighting circuits work fine via test light. i wire up a test speaker and this siren is all dicked up.

anyone have ANY idea what would make this thing do this?

yea i just went out to the shop and tested it again verified i had the speakers wired correctly.

it will dim the panel lights when the siren goes high and low. so im assuming theres a short in there or something.

If it is a short, then it will be like finding a needle in a haystack to locate it :weird:

Sounds like the sound effects in those low resolution sci-fi space battle video games of the early 1980s.

What are you using for a power supply? sounds like it isnt getting clean power. I had one in for testing a while back and my power supply that I was using was getting bad and wasnt putting out clean enough power . I hooked it to a battery and it worked fine that way .

+2 on the power. Get it from the battery since most power supplies are rather "dirty".
ok. I tried a battery and still the same thing. I was able to get to the lower board and found one of the transformer wires looked like it was hot and was contacted some of the soldered pins on the underneath. i havent attempted to reawire it yet but ill try tomorrow and see how it goes.

thanks for the help and input guys. i really appreciate it!

When you try it at the battery, ensure that it's charged or the engine's running (at least 13.5vdc) if it's connected if you're still in the early stages of figuring out the issue.

i tried my truck battery while running and not running, same outcome. (I run dual batteries too)

Then i also tried my battery charger on my bench battery just for giggles and still same outcome.
