Mars Satellite and other auction finds

Won all of these at an auction house not knowing if any of them worked. I've wanted a Super Beacon Ray for a while and finally got one! Some may remember I had one of these Sireno lights in red/clear a while ago but had sold that. I'm thankful to have this one now, though it currently doesn't rotate.

Mars Satellite dash light- applied power and nada. I'll have to open it up and see what the issue is. I've only ever seen these in the Mars literature forum. UPDATE 2/4/18- got it working, was a loose wire

Sireno 166MG- illuminates but doesn't currently rotate. Has a property stamp from The Ohio State. Very deep rich blue color.

I experienced a bit of confusion when I read that...I was thinking, "Well, technically it oscillates...and it seems to be working just fine.".:p
Outstanding grab! Always loved the 174...I have two in my collection--one with a red glass dome restored by John Dorgan and the other with a blue glass dome. Best (FedSig) light evah! IMHO.
BTW, if you want to have the dwell hit the center of the tag, make sure the skirt is screwed on with the butt of the motor facing the tag.

Agreed, nice set of lights added to your collection with that auction win. And jealous of your 174. I'd like one in blue just cuz of Hawaii-5-0, but they're usually so pricey.

Edited to add: and the blue on that Sireno is really cool! :)

Back in the day that would be known as crystal blue persuasion....

Love the lights. I have a new green and red lens for the Mars Satellite. Picked them up in case I found a unit with rough dome. Looks like a Code 3 dashlaser without the slope. Love the dual reflector blue unit.

Nice finds mister!
Being that Sireno is of European descent, I would say its probably a cie blue color.
No, Sireno had quite dark blue lenses in the 60s.

By the way, what do you mean with ”Sireno is of European decent”?

I have never seen or heard anything that should indicate that Sireno should have had anything to do with Europe.
Where have you got that from?

Sorry, I confused the two with the "Sirena" Siren company from Italy.

OK, I suspected that it was like that.

Sirena S.p.A. started in Rosta outside Turin in 1974 and was called Sirena Electra S.p.A. for many years but has now dropped the Electra from their name.

Electra is their range of industrial warning lights.

Got the Satellite working! Video here and in the OP! The Sireno's motor is shot, so no go on that.

Looks like a MX7000 rotator under the dome. I believe that Tri Lite Mars used Code 3 parts for their single rotator Skybolt and Satellite products.
