First off Id like to say that all pictures and videos were taken by me on my Blackberry.

This is my 07 Ford Explorer XLT POV. I use it for Fire & EMS Responses to the scene and to the station.

Thanks to James(bizkitjmd1) and Mikey For All there help on the install!

Whelen Vertex R x2 (Brake Lights)

Whelen Vertex B/W x2 (Reverse Lights)

Whelen TIR3 B x2 (Coming soon, See pics for brackets already mounted)

Inside

Havis Ford Explorer Console

Whelen PCCS9NP Switchbox

Motorola CDM1250

Uniden BC15 Scanner

Streamlight Vulcun Charger

Roof

Laird ETRAB4503 (For Motorola)

Larson NMO150/450/800 (For Uniden)

Note:Video 2 has the flashing takedowns on. I DO NOT respond with these on. I turned them on for the vid because I like they way they look. I DO however use the regular takedowns O/s for Extra lighting if needed. Also I do have the Cruise option on my edge which I do use when O/s EMS Runs when I go to the scene. (Dont wanna light up the neighborhood, but sometimes the Dumb squad doesn't always know where to go) The TIR3s going in the back will be steady burns in conjunction with the Cruise lights from the front. And YES I know about the gap on the console. That plates on it's way.

NEW STUFF!

I decided to upgrade my truck because my intersection warning was lacking. I added a Go! Rhino Push Bar with 2 Split B/B Whelen TIR6's. Came out pretty well I think.

I would add a Headlight flasher if you are allowed to use it. You will see it will make a world of a diffrence . PPl pul over faster . Are you allowed an electronic air horn ? That would be nice too.

i would switch the talons in the rear with the slims in the side windows. the tirs punch through better
I wouldnt move them . Id just add Rect13's or Tir3's next to the LP. I think he said they are on the way.

I agree, its silly to have so much warning to the side, and just a little to the back.

I would love to run a head light flasher because I know how effective they are however, in my town, and according to our bylaws, Any member can run blue, only Line officers can run white and blue. There is a special agreement worked out between the fire chief and the police chief to allow that to happen. This might not be to the letter of CT state law but Its how our town opperates. So please no one get any ideas and start posting the diffrences between a CT blue light permit and a red light/white light/siren permit. I know the diffrence.

I think I said it somewhere else that if I made line officer I would move the split b/w vertexs up front and put the solid blues in the reverse lights. I do have the Tir3's installed and I'm using them as cruise lights in conjunction with the "cruise" function built into the inner edge.

As for moving the Slimlighters to the rear i'm gunna have to say no. There is enough warning power to the rear and the slimlighters are great just where they are. I have no problem with the talons punching the tint.

.

not just your town. its a state staute or something that allows vollies to run wig wags with the permission of the police chief. of course he will sign it when the fire chief signs it and the fire chief will sign it when the police chief signs it...

I've looked into it. Trying to find the Brackets for them are a pain in the ass. I've got an order in with K&D however I haven't heard from them yet. The accually housings are the old 400 series strobe housings. They accually dont look half bad behind the grill.

How long did the pushbar install take?

Thanks Guys! I'm very happy with my set up thus far.

The Pushbar its self took about an hour to put together. The acual mounting and leveling took about 2 more. The instructions were in english however the pictures were small and not always the clearest to read. In the end it all worked out.

How is the V6? Is it really worth it to go for the V8 if I am doing day to day driving on big roads and some highway?

V6 isn't bad, but if i could do it again I'd get a V8, only save about 1mpg with the V6, the V8 gets more power and better acceleration.

If I could I would love the V8. At this point I'm already paying $60 bucks a tank. Would love the extra power. Got notification of the housings for the 400's shipped. I'll see how I like them, also see home much of a pain it will be to move them to the grill. Of course if I do I'll post some more pictures.

Thanks for the positive feedback.
