It's a good size collection for sure. You've got an interesting way to keep the dashlight cords from taking up shelf space. Neat variety!

Awesome collection, I'd call it medium or even large! Love the battery powered LED magnet mount flashers (left of the amber AS-2). I saw those at Big Lots a long time ago for just a couple bucks, I should have bought a bunch.

No biggie, Rick. My first thought was, "Are all those going to a big power supply? That thing must beg for mercy when he flicks the switch  !"

Say, that Visibar under the last shelf looks a home-brew set-up with a pair of regular Model 14s. Good enough for a medium-size car or sub-compact if you wanted to run it for code  .

Are all the Director and Interceptor sirens PA15A / PA20A E series units or do you have any of the earlier models with low pitched wail and yelp tones?

Nice collection Rick.

Tell your wife to be nice to you, or you'll start building lighting shelves in the kitchen.

When my old lady starts to gripe, I just tell her it's cheaper than cocaine and hookers. Shuts her up!

I need to remember that line! My wife often nags me about my collection, which is not large, but she finds it odd, distasteful and probably stupid. She has no idea of the value of all that "junk" on the shelves.

Thanks for the kind comments. My Wife really does not understand why I collect old lights and sirens. We have had more than a few disagreements . I keep telling myself that I have completed my collection, but I always find something else .lol

I also get to that point often. Just these few more, that are on my wish list, then I'm done. It never works. There's always something I didn't think of. I'm lucky, though. that my wife is completely supportive.

Rick,

The 175 was a "Hill Light". Federal's name for it was the Strat-O-Ray. I was usuall ordered with a clear dome, colored horizontal, and clear tilted bulbs, but was also available with clear bulbs, and a colored dome. 6 volt was one of the voltage options.

Rick, I think mid to late 60s through at least the mid 70s. Someone else may chime in with better dating. This was part of the newer, larger dome Beacon Ray series. The larger dome was to accomodate the larger # of bulbs. The old smaller series had models 17, 1nd 173 only.
