Need Lighting Ideas

Okay guys....time to get some ideas so put on your creativity pants and lets have some fun. I'm looking to outfit a Honda PC800 with red and amber LED lighting on all four sides. I'd prefer to find something with both colors in the same head, like a chameleon, but I'm gonna remain open minded for the time being to see what ideas come about. The bike is to be used for traffic control for funeral escorts, etc. with a private company, so no blue and Idaho's not using purple yet for funeral escorts. Here are some pictures if ya wanna play around with photoshop or the like.

Something that i would do is choose a company that you want to use such as Whelen. So this is what i would do: Front Fut in a HLF, Windshelf array by whelen with the mix of amber and red in the lightheads. On both sides i would put a linz6 on both sides on the front wheel well, I would also mound 400 series lightheads on the rear sides. As far as the back goes i would try to put a 4 head dominator or 2 400 series lightheads as well as a TLF. That what i would do and that way it will keep it kinda on the cheap side. something else you can do is pipe mount a L32 or L31 beacon on the back if you want to look old school. Just my 2 cents. I hope it helps.
 
i'd keep it very simple:


Front: 2 red ghosts


Sides: 1 red ghost each side


Rear: 1 red and 1 amber ghost

i personally dont see the need for a HLF or a tlf on a bike like that (since theres a single main headlight housing and aren't any reverse lights) or using any fancy, large lightheads for such a bike with such escort details.
 
The PC800, granddaddy to my ST1300. Very nice bike.


Personally, I don't see the hurry in getting a dead guy moved across town. But if you can make money at it, go for it.
 
I wouldn't want to gunk up a streamlined bike with a bunch of lightwarts. Could HAWS/HAWLs fit in the present light locations?
 
Keep it clean, simple and cheap!


-Since the headlight will probably be on, no lighting there


-2 TIR3 Pimp Pods one red one amber on the front to the left and right of the "rifle" tag $39.99ea


-2 TIR3 or even TIR4 Pimp Pods on each side under the Honda Tag


-2 TIR3 or TIR4 or even TIR6 Pimp Pods above "pacific coast" on rear side


-4 TIR3 or TIR4, Or maybe 2 TIR6's on rear

first question would be,did you check the states lighting laws,does it contain anything about the use of red on anything other than police,fire,ems vehicles.besides for that how much you looking to spend

Idaho allows red "directly from the front" for law enforcement, fire, ambulances, EMTs, volunteer firefighters, Search & Rescue members, TOW TRUCKS and funeral processions... Blue is restricted to LE only... It's silly - I love yielding to tow trucks...


Nice bike Tim, I'd focus on linear heads more than Ghosts; too directional for the few number of heads you're going to put on there.
 
How about a mini freedom on the rear :lol:

I'm liking the idea of ghosts for the front, and I was thinking right above the signal lights on the mirror pods would be the optimal location....and then I saw

I would go with Ghost on the front


Side: front ghost, side rear: ghost


Rear: Ghost in R/A split flush mounted to the back and if you want to spend the extra money get the new SOS LED HAW's and put in the red brake and amber turns :D
 
For starters...(4) Axixtech T.R.I. Laws or Soundoff Universals LAWs in amber for the four corners...(2) red led haws for the tailights as well...alonfg with some rect 13's or Ghosts or Xtreme 9 chameleons...

I think $30 per hour is going to be sufficient enough to not have to worry about how dead the guy is. ;)


Anyway, I think I've decided on Ghosts mounted on top of the signal light housings in the front and Tomar RECT14's on the sides and in the back (one above 'Honda' and one above 'Pacific Coast' on each side and two across the back, side by side, above the tail light). As for a HLF, the modulator should do well enough.


But that plan isn't set in stone yet, so if you guys have other ideas, I'm still contemplating....
