Hello to all.

I recently added another Smith and Wesson llight to my collection.

I already have a L-11 Halogen in red. Simple and fairly common but by far was the best in the "pancake" series in my opinion .

What I have added is the far more rare VOLUNTEER I, seen here in blue(bought from dmathieu on the board).

This has all metal gears like a FS Fire Ball and metal magnet housings. In fact the motor looks identical to a Fire Ball motor. Truly a neat and seldom seen teardrop light.

And both of them together. Both are fully functional and have factory length cords with cigar plugs still attached.

I usually stick to Federal Signal lighting as a collector, but these two lights make fine additions.

Enjoy and as always comments are welcomed.

I had a Smith and Wesson Volunteer loaned to me while my Fireball was being repaired (wire connection needed to be resoldered). The light is a little larger than the Fireball, and I was wondering if it might be a rebadged SVP or Signal Stat?

Rebadged Signal-Stat 381, S&W also marketed rebadged Signal-Stat 370 and 374 beacons and the Dietz Omni-Chief bar.

Correct . I was just using the fire ball as a reference point.

The light is the same size as a SVP 1166. Sorry for any confusion that I may have caused.

And thanks for all the comments

Nice addition to the collection Chris. I used an still have the original I bought way back when..

Thanks. I would still be willing to use mine but I prefer they stay on display . Never know when field use will ruin a classic light.

I do like the S&W line of lights though.
