New contest!

I'm tired of never winning any contests on ELB. So, the challenge is to send JazzDad your stuff. The winner will be chosen by a combination of the number of pieces of emergency equipment (lights, sirens, etc.) you mail and the total value of the items you send. The contest ends September 30th, so get your entries in soon. Remember, the more you send, the better your chances are to win. New items or used. PM me for the address.

Oh, the prizes?

1st place: The satisfaction of winning this prestigious contest.

2nd place: The satisfaction that you didn't send JazzDad as much as the first place winner.

3rd place: (See 2nd place and interpolate.)

Honorable mention: The most interesting single piece submitted. (Suggestions include 2013 slicktop Challenger or late model pumper.)

Fine print. This contest is for entertainment purposes only. All entries become the property of JazzDad, to be used at his discretion. In the case of a tie, additional entries will be solicited from the entrants to try to 'tip the scale'. COD entries will disqualify you and get your name published on the 'bad person' list.

OK, this is off to a really poor start. I have one entry so far. It's an all green arrowstick. Without a controller. The only thing I can figure was the guy who sent it couldn't figure out what it was for, either.

Come on. Do you want to lose to a green, halogen arrowstick?

It would be a contender.

So far I've gotten:

  • A brownie with a bite taken out of it. It was stale and didn’t taste very good, to boot.
  • An Aurora Borealis with a burned-out light bulb. (You’ll never win the contest with such a lame entry. Besides that, I have 3 or 4 of these out in the garage somewhere.)
  • Another entry was the “removable rooftop police baton”. Um, I don’t think so. (See photo)

I'm glad you think it's funny. I may have to call off the contest.

A flat bed wrecker pulls up in front of my house this morning at about 0600. He's got a work order to deliver a faded 1989 FEPI (Ford Escort Police Interceptor). Fortunately, I was able to turn him away before he unloaded it. The work order was unsigned, however, I suspect it was Torpedo that sent this entry.

That's a classic piece of equipment!

Granted, but I've already got one.

I shipped the box of scrap wire too short to be used but too long to be thrown away but it came back postage due, sorry for the inconvenience, it was my brothers fault.

To make this all better I am throwing in, free of charge, a box of items I have found hidden under the back seats of patrol cars I have decommissioned.

I will send you a tracking # later tonight.

Uh, I recently moved.

(It's good to hear that I'm not the only one with boxes of wire scraps. 'You never know when a 3 foot piece of RG-11 might be of use.')

Thanks, Jarred.

I had my camera out when I opened the box. See how 2 of my friends reacted to your contest entry?
