Newbie in Michigan

[Pacecar Collector]

Hey everyone,


I have a couple of pacecars that have different types of equipment on them and I'll get some pictures up soon but I wanted to check in and say Hi and ask a question.


One of the cars has a Tomar Heliobe but has blue and red and clear lenses. I'm new to this whole lightbar thing but what I'm wondering is if I remove the blue lenses and replace them will that make it legal to drive on the street? I'm either going to replace the ones I need to to make it "legal" or just take it off. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the site CJ! As for your question, Michigan Vehicle Code Section 257.698 lists which colors are acceptable. I have included the link below for you.

On a Tomar bar you have to replace the lightheads themselves as they are each a complete part. You cannot change the lenses.
