That's how code 3 sold them. They did make the mini Excalibur with each side being angled, but those are not common. I don't think they ever made the MX7000 that way.

The main reason for their exisitance was to supplement cab-over fire apparatus or large tow trucks. A bit goofy, but it was to be used as additional light coverage alongside the main lightbar system. I don't think they caught on like Code 3 hoped they would like the XL5000 mini lightbars did.

The seller is Ferrara Fire Apparatus. So one would assume they are left over stock that they used to fulfill truck builds. So they would have ordered those from Code 3 as they are. And not cut a full size down bar.

Code 3 still sells the Mini Excal...I'm tempted to buy one, just to play with

Where I've seen these used before, and I think it looks good, is on a ladder truck. I agree putting these on the sides of an engine with a full size lightbar would look bad. But on a ladder that can't have a full size lightbar, these look good.

Peoria IL has these on their Pierce Velocity rigs on the side of the cab and they look strange. I too would love to have a mini Excalibur.

San Jose Ca fire used A modified MX 7000 on Ladder trucks. Mini center section and then one full side. Were on an angle on either side of the ladder mounted to the cab.

I really expected the Jazz man to chime in with lead ins like "good looking rear end all around"
and "perfectly folded hose loads"

;):)

Too easy.
