OEM led lights

I have noticed, mostly on top gear, that factory led tail and drls flash on camera. I have seen this on a YouTube video of a bugati veron in Dallas. Anyone else notice this? I think it must be something about the led bulbs flickering faster than we can process, and fitting caught in shutter speed.

It's one way to cause the lights to appear less bright - taillights on newer Cadillacs often will do this. Just move your eyes side-to-side quickly when you see one with the taillights on (NOT brakes, those are brighter so they don't do the fast flicker thing) and you'll sort of see what i mean.

Its called pulse width modulation (PWM), efficient way to control brightness of an LED without power robbing resistors. Same technology is used to control the speed of some DC motors.
