I thought purple was pretty universal for funeral convoys, seems nobody really uses it, though.

They're probably playing very close to the line on those cars. I don't know many states' laws, but I read-up on my own because I buy and sell an assortment of decommissioned stuff (one of the auctions posts the relevant statute with the lot if they know the color(s) are regulated). Everything here seems to be concerned with forward-facing lights, from how it reads, you could fill your rear window with strobes & crap as long as not a single unauthorized color faces forward.

Some of those funeral escort vids scream shenanigans though. The sirens are completely unnecessary and obnoxious, as is trying to make everyone on the road stop and pull over, regardless of direction of travel. Seriously, is that really legal? Dead people have no urgency to get to their hole in the ground. I get that they want to maintain convoy integrity, but there are less obnoxious and much more effective ways to accomplish that result.
In mass, “funeral cars” as in the herse, the flower car, and any other vehicle owned by the funeral home can run purple. All, if any escorts are done so by either state or local PD..

What a moron. It's illegal to have any amber or white in IL unless you're a tow vehicle or working private construction on or near a highway. I can't even have amber on my VFF pov.

Im going to guess this person may be on this site...

how many ways do you need to control the same stuff... (mirror, ipad, 4200 itself) unless this is used as a demo?

the bar in the grill is useless on that patterm

use havis mounts for equipment in your stock console... they dont even appear to be screwed down.

wire loom over the heat sink of the siren

even admitted to too much white updfront..

I'm a little concerned that this is being used as a demo, with such a shady wiring job. A demo vehicle has to look sharp inside and out. The point is to showcase the equipment, and your ability to install it

Why would you want to hide the mirror controls from someone? If you’re close enough to see the mirror, wouldn’t the center console and the iPad be a dead give away that this a police vehicle? Maybe one day you’ll be able to control it with your mirror, iPad, controller and your mind.

in a "normal" install youd only have 1 or 2 options... i think this guy has too much spare money to install all three options..

$400 for the 4200
$100 for the bluetooth module
$1 - 500 for a ipad/tablet
$400 for the rearview mirror

so he's got more money in his controls than i have in my whole vehicle "warning package"

Is that some sort of motorcade? Looks like they are shielding the windows with their bodies. It’s weird that car 1 has red/white and car 2 had red/blue.
They need to invest in bullet proof glass and armor the vehicle. Human shields are so 1960’s. Get with the 21st century.

HE ONLY HAS LIKE 5 LIGHTS AND IT LOOKS LIKE THAT! imagine if this guy was wiring up an entire vehicle with permiter lighting and a Lightbar. It would catch fire in minutes. Do it the right way and invest in heat shrink, a $5 soldering iron from Walmart and packs of wire loom from harbor freight!

I feel it is a major liability with all these Volunteers using cheap none SAE approved lights to respond to a call. If a good lawyer figures that out if they get into a major accident, I can see that being a big issue with the case.

No emergency vehicle driver, much less someone responding in a POV, should ever put themselves in a position where they're attempting to pass unsafely or take an intersection without verifying every potential conflicting lane is yielding. Lighting cannot seize right-of-way, only ask for it, and anyone getting in an accident due to reckless driving during response should be held accountable, regardless of how good their lighting is.
