Old strobe mounting

I have some old whelen 600 series strobe light heads. And they both work. They are triangular shaped with the bottom of the triangle being the lens and the point is the back of the light. What piece am I missing to mount these? Is there a flange of some sort? I was curious about using them and wanted to mount them up.

You'll need flanges, gaskets and lenses. I had some around here somewhere in a for sale thread. I'll look in the am.

Those are the previous version of 600s. Hardware should all be the same size between the 2 model lines. There are foam gaskets that seal the lens to the strobe head, chrome bezels with rubber gaskets that seat the whole assembly to the body of a truck. If these are mounted in a box and not on a body then you won't need the bezel and rubber.

If you can't find the foam seal then use some gray gasket goop and make your own. The key is to keep water out.

The chrome bezel is for surface mounting.

That chrome bezel requires making a large hole in the body to accommodate the majority of the strobe reflector. Because of this,it would probably be considered more like flush mounting than surface mounting.

Thanks Jeff that makes sense. I have never tried to mount on of these up so it’s been a learning experience. I think I might not use them because I would rather not cut up my grille.
