I looking for other opinions for what to install on my 2000 model mustang.

All Led or Strobes

What i had in mind was

Front:

4 head Stick in grille Red/Clear

Strobe Hide-a-ways in turnsignals

Sides:

Surface mounted Led Hide-a-way on front fenders Red/Clear

Rear:

Strobe Hide-a-ways in tail and reverse lights

Any changes or opinions would help alot cars going to be used for Everyday calls Fire/SAR/QR

According to your budget a inneredge or supervisor would be awesome upper front. If not i did set a 2000s model stang up as follows: two tir3 behind grille, headlight wig wag, corner strobes in turn signals, dual talon to the right of rvm, two dual talons on rear deck, strobes in b/u lamps. This was a undercover unit and the talons were enough to cut through the tint. You could also add some leds on a tag bracket. :twocents: And I wouldnt do the front fender mounted lights. I set up two f150s and they specified a tir4 on each front fender, it looks horrific.

get a 10-75 bracket. or a strobesnmore license bracket. Great for intersection warning!!!! perhaps a rear lightbar? a 4 head would suffice great, I wouldnt run just strobes as I don't feell that they are very effective during the day time. And look into a HLF-hands down the best traffic mover you can get!!!!!!!

from what I have read here on the board Cps has a long product delivery time it seems. Check out Advancedwarninglights. com they have some cheap rear lightbars. you might also look here on the for sale section, If i recall correctly I have seen good brand deck lights like: Code3, Whelen, Federal Signal, Sound Off, and Axixtech for under $200...

I recommend an interior bar, 2 grille lights, and 2 strobes in the front. Then a warning bar and 2 strobes in the rear. Then a surface mount on each side of an intersector

6 calls a day? Wow! How does work feel about that?

I would recommend something along the lines of a dual Talon/Avenger for the windshield, a pair of hide-a-ways (strobe or LED) for your turn signals, a pair of single sync Talon or Avengers in amber for your rear deck, and a pair of hide-a-ways (again, strobe or LED) for your tail lights, and leave it at that.

If you are running that frequently.....

1-You need to call your insurance company if you haven't already. You are running an emergency vehicle and need to insure it as such.

2-If you are running "response mode" or "code" you need 360 degree coverage. Check this post out for some considerations. http://elightbars.org/forums/f13/illustrated-guide-adequate-lighting-30112/

3-You didn't give enough info for us to evaluate the setup. Simply saying "front" and "rear" means little. Placement means so much, especially in hide aways http://elightbars.org/forums/f13/hide-away-strobes-hide-away-leds-general-meaning-placement-5858/

4-Don't split lightheads especially small ones. You might as well steady burn them or not use them. http://elightbars.org/forums/f13/good-lights-ruined-split-flash-8530/

5-Sometimes a throw light (when it can be done safely) goes a long way. http://elightbars.org/forums/f13/throw-light-23163/ http://elightbars.org/forums/f13/best-throw-light-1687/ http://elightbars.org/forums/f13/looking-light-emitting-diode-throw-light-16868/

Oh, so you work on an Interstate... QUICKLY. SOON. Buy a good throw light. Like, right now. You need much better rear visibility than just a pair of hideaway strobes. I recommend this, this or this, or if you really must use LEDs, this. Magnetic mount, of course.

Once that's accomplished, you can worry about the next question: I know your primary color is red. What restrictions do you have on the number and placement of warning lights? For example, Virginia doesn't allow POVs to use more than 2 red or red/white warning lights, or as in this guy's situation, some departments don't allow permanently-mounted roof warning lights.

Then get an amber strobe or LED light for your rear deck, sooner rather than later. You'll notice my signature ends in "Usually." This is an exception to the rule: You need more lights.

Once that's been accomplished, it's much less urgent: get a pair of clear hideaway strobes in the front corner lights and some kind of Whelen Edge lightbar (9000, 9M, Ultra, Patriot, Liberty, Freedom... doesn't matter) in red to the front and red/amber to the rear, and you're done.

The sheriff's office of my county have two 04 Mustang GT(one is currently at auction). They are white, and have LED's all over. Most effective traffic cars the county had. Even with large corner bumper LED's, people would think it was a regular mustang.

The cars had:

LED strip in the hood scoop

LED's on all four bumper corners

LED's on the mirrors

LED's in the grille

LED's in the windshield

LED's in the rear window

LED's near the license plate in the rear

Strobes in all corners

And LED's in the rear side windows.

Window tint will hide the interior lights fairly well

Beaver, I know that was a joke but mounting a light bar to a 94-04 Mustang is not going to happen without modding the roof rails / a pillar. The a pillar trim is plastic and runs up to the middle of the roof. Its bolted from the inside of the car. You could notch it for the bar feet, but it would be a permanent and noticeable modification.

So far, I've seen some very good examples of how to light these cars. My current Mustang is getting a very low profile setup but I have a 1.5 mile response to the fire house on back roads with a few neighborhoods. Here's my setup

Front-

Corner strobes 60 watt

HLF

Whelen LED Visor R/R

Rear-

Reverse Strobes 60 watt

Micro Thin Deck strobes

100 watt Whelen siren in lower bumper

Code 3 3050 siren with custom switch plate in lower dash

Does your car have a wing on the trunk? if not get some micropulses with lip mounts and mount them on the trunk deck like you would a lip mount antenna....also something to consider is using a set of Rontan dots mounted on the underside of the trunk lid and wire them to a mercury switch so they kick on if your trunk is in the up/open position.

Don't use strobes in the reverse housings... Unless you want melted reverse light housings... Trust me...
