Orange County FL Sheriff "Classic Squad"

The Orange County Florida Sheriff Office Squad #1065. The car is used now for Parades, Car Shows and various PR events but is still maintained by the office and operated by deputies. It is pretty much original on the inside as it was taken from service straight into show detail many years back. Bar and siren are fully functional. Picture was taken in front of the Florida Eye in Orlando.

I suppose it could be called 'classic' in the sense that the car body is the big and boxy style of the 1970s and 1980s, the siren is a self-contained control and amplifier unit, and the light bar has a speaker grille.

Thats cool that the department recognized the need to preserved a car like this. While its not the typical historical car from the '60s or earlier, it is cool as hell.

The car is almost three decades old, how old do you want it to be? Not every department has access, funds, or the desire to restore a vintage car. It is cool to see the department taking an active role in preserving history. That said, I was never a fan of the front and rear clip on this year's LTD. The front and rear clip from the earlier model looked way nicer.

Those Ford LTDs are long gone and a Federal Streethawk light bar is a rare sight on EVs nowadays, so they are vintage, classic, or whatever you want to call them.
