It is with sadness I pass along the information that Firefighter Tom Royds of the Belmont Hills Fire Department in Lower Merion PA has made the Ultimate Sacrifice

FF Royds was operating at the scene of a previous MVA when himself, 2 other firefighters and a PA State Trooper were struck by a drunk motorist attempting to pass the scene at a high rate of speed. Royds was fatally struck, the 3 others were injured and are being treated at local hospitals

FF Royds had been a lifelong firefighter serving 3 area departments. He is survived by 3 children

Condolences. That is one heck of a loss plus the others that were injured.
Hope they caught the suspect.

Glad they found the driver. While it won't erase the tragedy, conviction may help the family find some closure.
