Believe Frank Rizzo changed them over when he was the commish......

... and the joke at the time was Frank made the change so that his brother Joe (who he made Fire Commissioner) could tell the police cars from the fire trucks.

I can't post the video but Code3, Inc on Facebook has a video of the new H27 rpc on their page.

The vehicle is suppose to be on display at the IACP conference at the convention center this weekend.

I added the Youtube video:

From the IACP conference.

The car beside the red Philly car is an old PA State Police car.

A Ford Falcon police car??

Just think of it as a Mustang variant. Mustangs have been used by police for ages, right? ;)

Is all of the added intersection warning due to the recently high number of PPD collisions in intersections? Hopefully these lights will help reduce that number, although I am sure that there may be other factors at play here (but I won't get into that without any knowledge of the situation).

Sadly, it seems many of the first page early pics must not have survived one of the server migrations.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

So, are these bars Sireno Condors as well? I thought they were TwinSonics.

I would not want to be assigned car K1A. Just sayin.
Can anyone tell me if the all-red bars Philly PD used in the early 70s were Sireno Condors or FS TwinSonics? The best pic I can find is from policecarwebsite.com and I can't really tell for sure. I want to recreate this bar with the blue Sireno rotator on top.
