Anybody know any other depts that used these? (Excluding the Michigan State police which use them extensively). This one was obviously used by local police. I know that ANN ARBOR PD used them back in the late 60s for sure. Pic shows one on a 66 Ford. There is a Sheriff's Department that uses (or used) them at least up to the last few years...I can't remember off the top of my head which one, but it was northern Michigan.

There is a guy on facebook that is selling them brand new (repro's)

Thanks. I know of the guy you are referring to. As a vintage collector Im not into reproductions. Nothing beats original. I suspect the Sheriff's dept would have theirs worded "sheriff" and not "police". It appears that these were not very common in their usage. Not complaining......rare is good

Anyone on here own one of these??????? Im trying to find out what size of 12 volt light bulbs were used in these.

Had to wire it and do some cleaning, but its up and running. Thought about dressing it but decided against it. The stanchions could use new paint, but Im keeping it just the way I got it, with all its battle scars. 100_4825.JPG

Nice! I saw one of these lit up on a MSP cruiser while working Dream Cruise. I'd never seen one lit before then and now there's yours, too! :)

Got it on display now with the rest of the collection. With the original black stanchions and the fact that it came out of Michigan, my guess is it was off an Ann Arbor car. Pic is of a 1966 AA car with an identical hood light with black stanchions.100_4990.JPG
